Real Madrid is looking for attacking talent. Real Madrid have an available slot for a brilliant young forward after Kylian Mbappe played them to get a large signing bonus and decision-making authority with PSG, presuming they can get rid of two of the three undesired forwards: Luka Jovic, Mariano Diaz, and Marco Asensio. There is even renewed hope that all three will be moved this summer.
But who should sign? A right winger and a striker are both possibilities. Carlo Ancelotti has already stated behind closed doors that he wants a new backup striker for Karim Benzema, as he does not trust either Jovic or Mariano.
Los Blancos will consider whether to sign someone with experience or a young player with superstar potential. Dortmund adolescent Youssoufa Moukoko, a record-breaking potential, has been linked to Real Madrid this summer. He is the Bundesliga's youngest goal scorer, the German U21 scorer, and the youngest player to feature in a Champions League match. Isn't it incredible?
Moukoko's introduction to the senior team, on the other hand, has not gone as planned. Moukoko, like Real Madrid loanee Reiner Jesus, struggled to find playing time under new boss Marco Rose. Dortmund fired Rose and replaced him with Edin Terzic, the temporary manager who won the DFB Pokal in 2020/21.
Youssoufa Moukoko's contract with Dortmund will not be extended.
Unfortunately for BVB, this has not yet changed things with Moukoko. While the transfer speculations have died down, Ruhr Nachrichten's Kevin Pinnow writes that contract talks between Borussia Dortmund and Youssoufa Moukoko have come to a halt.
If it sounds familiar, it's because Serge Gnabry, another Bundesliga transfer target on Real Madrid's radar, is now available for purchase after dragging his negotiations with Bayern Munich for several months.
So it stands to reason that Moukoko is waiting for Dortmund to submit a transfer bid in order to gain leverage for himself. Moukoko could try to push BVB's hand into a transfer if the appropriate team does.
Real Madrid is keeping an eye on things, and while it may be prudent for them to wait before making a move, it is possible that Los Blancos will arrange a loan agreement with a buy clause as a precaution and to protect their connection with Dortmund. Real and Dortmund have a terrific connection that they must continue, so if Real do want Moukoko, they must negotiate on a transaction that respects BVB. Moukoko must be approved for a loan.
Moukoko now joins Jude Bellingham as a superbly gifted young player worthy of Real Madrid's attention as contract negotiations stagnate. He could become available this summer and would be far less expensive than Bellingham, who could fetch 80 million euros in 2023. Moukoko is less proven and may not be trusted by Carlo Ancelotti in 2022/23, but if Juni Calafat thinks highly of him, anything is possible. Maintain an eye on Moukoko's circumstances. Los Blancos would like to sign Moukoko after 2022 because he isn't quite ready for their first team and need playing time. They might, however, work out a handshake agreement to keep Dortmund's player. Again, you never know what Madrid has in store for Moukoko.
