As part of Jürgen Klopp's system adjustment, Liverpool might finally sign a 2020 FSG transfer target.

The start of the epidemic in 2020 shook FSG, as it did everyone else. Despite the disruption to Liverpool's transfer preparations, Jürgen Klopp was now able to get his target. Liverpool was frequently mentioned as a potential destination for Timo Werner in the summer of 2020. In fact, it's thought that FSG made a concerted effort to lure the German to Anfield in addition to the fact that the club was connected with a deal for the then-Red Bull Leipzig front.Werner ultimately made the decision to choose a transfer to Chelsea. We may never know for sure how much was due to him and how much was due to RB Leipzig because the FSG offer would have been made in installments, similar to how Liverpool only ended up paying an initial £4 million up front for Diogo Jota.

But whether it was a conscious choice or not, the player suffered a spectacular setback as he joined a long list of strikers who struggled at Stamford Bridge. Werner was brought to London by Chelsea for almost £47 million, but the goals, which were plentiful in the Bundesliga, disappeared once he arrived at Stamford Bridge.

Werner has scored 23 goals and created 21 assists in 89 games for The Blues in his two years at Chelsea. The fact that Werner has come to represent Chelsea as a workhorse forward who puts in a lot of effort for the team but rarely registers a goal speaks for itself.

We all know how it turned out because Werner's inability to shine was the main factor in Chelsea's decision to pay £97 million to bring Romelu Lukaku back to London.

Now it appears that Chelsea still wants to get rid of Werner despite Lukaku returning to Inter. Werner is reportedly interested in moving to Liverpool once more, and it's likely that he won't reject the offer, according to the website Football Insider.

A deal in the neighborhood of £30 million is said to be possible. FSG wouldn't have any trouble making that bid because Takumi Minamino is about to leave for about £15 million and Liverpool is awash with cash thanks to the sale of Sadio Mané.

But the real query is: Do they require Werner at this time?

Werner, who is only 26 years old, has time to improve as a player. He was employed less as a center-forward at Chelsea and more as an eager runner. His best work frequently came from outside the box rather than from within.

Given the addition of Darwin Nez, it's challenging to see where Werner would fit in if Klopp continues to use the 4-3-3 system in the upcoming season. Werner might have a place in the new Liverpool lineup, though, if Klopp switches to a different system, perhaps a 4-2-3-1.
