'Dumsor' gave me restless night - John Mahama admits
Previous President John Mahama has related minutes in the workplace when things turned out to be hard for him as President in his bid to change the existences of Ghanaians and end the energy emergencies
'There are circumstances things are difficult and that's what I encountered. You called me 'Mr. Dumsor', we had a devastating energy emergency and I had restless evenings in light of the emergencies", the previous President uncovered in a re-streamed interview observed by MyNewsGh.com on Ugandan Channel, NBS TV.
'My Energy Minister and Finance Minister were the most focused on Ministers. There are times when I am working and thinking and abruptly something comes into my brain about how we can tackle this issue and I take my telephone and call my Energy Minister and Power Minister and there is no reaction and afterward 'I take a gander at my time and it's 2 am… obviously, that unfortunate man should be sleeping yet 'it slipped my mind", he related.
As per Mr. Mahama who is looking for one more term in office to finish his eight-year command, 'It is a difficult situation to work really hard.'
As indicated by him, he acquired the power emergency he assumed liability and fixed it.
"We had the Akosombo Dam. We figured Akosombo will endure forever, sadly, it didn't. So we were consuming like 2,600 megawatts and our creation was 2,300 megawatts so we needed to go through a time of blackouts. How did I respond? I assumed liability.
"I didn't fault past legislatures. I said OK you call me 'Mr. Dumsor'… I acquired this issue yet I assume liability since you casted a ballot me into ability to assume liability and fix things thus I said I will fix this and by 2015 I had added an extra very nearly 3,000 megawatts to Ghana's age."
"It tends to be an unpleasant office in the event that you came for a change yet certain individuals battle for the workplace of the president only for the advantages and satisfaction and its privilege."
