In the Premier League era, Manchester United and Liverpool have both had iconic attacking trios, but how do they compare?
United signed Cristiano Ronaldo in 2003 and Wayne Rooney in 2004, before bringing in Carlos Tevez in 2007.
Over the next two seasons, the trio helped United win two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, the Community Shield, and a League Cup before Ronaldo and Tevez left in 2009.
In 2020, Gary Neville said, "Tevez for a year with Rooney and Ronaldo was just breathtaking, it was out of this world." "Not just because of the quality of the players, but because those three had a selfish, horrible, nasty determination.
On the pitch, Ronaldo was different; he wouldn't go around kicking and hassling people, hustling; he was immense in terms of performance levels, but Rooney and Tevez were street fighters with incredible ability, and there was something of that front three.
"You'll never beat the best front three in the Premier League for me.
However, Liverpool fans will argue that the front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane can compete with Rooney, Tevez, and Ronaldo.
Since Salah's arrival at Anfield in 2017, Liverpool has won the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the League Cup, the FIFA World Club Cup, and a European Super Cup.
Sadio Mane left for Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022, breaking up the trio, but Darwin Nunez has since replaced him.
We compared the stats for both attacking trios to see who came out on top. Please keep in mind that we only included stats from when all three players were at the club.
