Ephesians 5:27 tells us that Jesus is coming for a Church without spot or wrinkle. God desires to have a glorious Church. The spots and wrinkles are the sins of the believers! Notice I said they are the sins of believers, not sinners.
Believers have no excuse for sin of any kind in their lives. Sin blocks your relationship with God. Sin pulls you out of the realm of the Spirit. Sin stops the power of God from flowing in your life. Sin is a killer!
When preachers in the past started sinning, they lost their power; they lost their crowds; they lost their money; they lost their families and everything else. Soon they lost their lives. They lost it all.
Sin is sin in God's eyes. There is no degree of sin in His eyes. If you lie, it's just like committing murder. If you murder, it's just like lying. There's no greater or lesser sin. Sin is sin—period. Today we classify sin. We say, "Oh, that's not too bad. We shouldn't do this, but we can get away with that."
We can't get away with any kind of sin, according to God's Word.
"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
"But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."
—Psalm 1:1-3
If you associate with people who sin, you're going to wind up sinning. That's what the Word of God says. So the answer is very simple: Don't associate with those who sin!
"Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.
"Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart."
