First Corinthians 6:9-11 says,
"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
"Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
"And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God."
God has not called us to uncleanness, but to holiness. Holiness is simply a life without sin.
Mental Sins
Most believers today have their outward man pretty well organized. We don't see one another's outward sins. We act right, talk right, look right, and do most things according to what is expected of us.
But there is one area that has caused many problems for believers today: mental sins.
We can talk right, we can walk right, we can do everything right on the outside for all the world to see, but how's the inside? How's the mind? The wandering mind usually ends up sinning greatly. An individual who has a lot of idle time on his hands usually ends up sinning. Idle time is the devil's time.
We read in Romans 6:12-16,
"Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
"Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
"For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
"What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
"Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants are ye to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?"
