This year's Citi Business Festival includes the one-day Economic Summit, which is being organised by Citi TV in collaboration with the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) and ABSA Bank Ghana.

The summit, among other things, aims to put these global developments in their proper perspective by examining the feasibility and implications of potential solutions for SSA, analysing the effects of these developments on economies and economic actors, and discussing the effects of these developments on economies.

The summit is taking place as the world economy is on the verge of a recession brought on by post-Covid-19 recovery threats, such as the war in Russia and Ukraine and the potential for Covid-19 lockdowns in China. As a result, the World Bank has lowered its projection for global economic growth by almost a percentage point, to 3.2%.
