Thanks to Vodafone Ghana, one of the top telecommunications providers in Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology had the opportunity to enjoy the distinctive EchoHouse experience over the weekend.
Thousands of kids had a blast at the telecoms company's sponsored event, which included a fun-filled day that went late into the night. R2Bees, Mr. Drew, and Sefa performed, while DJ Aroma spun records with Mensa Junior giving the excitement.
The students were treated to back-to-back surprise performances by Darko Vibes and Tulenky, which was the biggest surprise of the evening.
These marketing experience activities, organised and carried out by EchoHouse, were a common occurrence on campus, until the COVID-19 outbreak put an end to everything.
Students were able to let off some steam during the Vodafone Turn Up event that was hosted at the Royal Parade Grounds thanks to the Vodafone Ghana and KNUST collaboration, which reactivated as soon as classes resumed.
The children played a variety of sports throughout the day while also encouraging their fellow entrepreneurs who had started businesses with help from Vodafone Ghana.
The Vodafone TikTok Studios also made an appearance during the Vodafone Turn Up event, adding another stunning and distinctive Vodafone aesthetic. At this year's Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, where stars like KiDi and Cina Soul among others filmed TikTok videos for the brand-new Vodafone Ghana TikTok account, the studio made its debut.
The atmosphere was filled with spectacular performances as the day gave way to darkness. The Vodafone Ghana Next TurnUp Star, Yaw Jen, took the lead and entertained the students with some of his unique music.
Before the hip hop and hip life combo R2Bees turned up the heat at the arena, Mugeez and Omar Sterling played music. With hit after song, Darko Vibes, Tulenkey, Mr. Drew, and Sefa also got the students dancing, leaping, and having fun.
After two years of barely scraping by, the Vodafone Ghana TurnUp provided KNUST with the much-needed jolt. The KNUST Students Representative Council (KNUST SRC) was instrumental in making this happen.
