Scoring an excellent goal on debut against Manchester City, it appeared then-boss Jose Mourinho had brought in a diamond. However, there were precious few other bright sparks during the intervening two and a half years. Indeed, Bergwijn has managed a disappointing eight goals in 83 appearances in a Spurs shirt. And the writing looked on the wall when Antonio Conte brought in Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus on an initial loan deal. Last week, it emerged that Ajax were closing on an agreement to bring Bergwijn back home. Spurs want replacement signed first Now, as per Algemeen Dagblad, Ajax have finally struck an agreement with Spurs to sign the winger. They will pay a fixed £21.55m fee for Bergwijn, with a further £4.5m in add-ons. That takes the total deal to around the £25.9m (€30m) mark that Spurs were demanding. However, the Rotterdam-based paper claims an announcement over a deal is being held up at Tottenham’s request. Fabio Paratici wants to bring in a replacement first before they announce his departure. Richarlison is widely believed to be the signing that Spurs are focusing on. To that end, the Brazilian has reportedly told his agent he has wants to head to N17 next. As such, both transfers are likely to be formalised within days of each other. Japhet Tanganga wanted by Atletico Madrid Tottenham are also hoping to offload another of their unwanted stars in the coming days. That’s amid reports in Spain that Atletico Madrid are preparing a surprise move for Tanganga. The 23-year-old looked destined for a bright future after making the breakthrough under Mourinho. However, his career has rather stalled since and he appears a long way down Conte’s pecking order. He is reportedly on the radar of several Italian clubs. However, Mundo Deportivo reports he is now the subject of strong interest from Atletico Madrid. They believe a bid will reportedly arrive in the coming days with Tottenham unlikely to stand in his way. Diego Simeone is reportedly an admirer of Tanganga’s versatility, though predominantly sees him as a right-back. Atleti have been seeking a replacement for former Spurs man Kieran Trippier since his move to Newcastle in January. Meanwhile, Spurs are reportedly closing on a low-risk signing of Clement Lenglet, beating a former manager to his signature.
