The presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, recently revealed that he has not yet selected a running mate for the 2023 election.
Responding to this, Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, is said to have made a commitment to assist Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in his search for an appropriate running mate in advance of the presidential election in 2023.
This was revealed by Tinubu on Sunday in Abuja during the celebration of the 60th birthday of Femi Gbajabiamila, who is the speaker of the house of representatives.
Tinubu, a politician who once served as the governor of Lagos state, was selected as the APC candidate to run for president in 2023 earlier this month.
After the victory, Kabiru Masari was given the title of "presidential candidate" for the position of vice presidential candidate. This designation will remain in effect until a final candidate name is presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
During his speech, Tinubu praised the accomplishments of Gbajabiamila and Idris Wase, the deputy speaker, and added that he needs to learn from them as he continues to look for a running mate.
Tinubu thanked them all by saying, "You are very good symbols of unity, dependability, and honesty. Thank you."
