Maguire and Fern Hawkins were married on Saturday in a picturesque French chateau after traveling there in a £50,000 private plane with about 30 family members and guests.The delighted couple has since taken out for Italy's Amalfi Coast after being granted permission by new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag to skip the first several days of preseason practice.
The United defender went all out for the big day, spending £250,000 on the celebration at the famed Chateau Varennes. He had already tied the knot at a Crewe registry office last month after proposing in Paris in February 2018. The Sun reported that Fern received a £40,000 white gold eternity ring adorned with diamonds, and that £20,000 was left behind the bar for guests to enjoy.
In the form of greetings from legendary Ferguson and United player Bryan Robson, the spectacular occasion also included a few reminders of Maguire's day job.A source told The Sun that one of the "so many nice touches" was that both club veterans wished the current captain and his wife a lifetime of happiness.
Jordan Pickford, a member of Maguire's England side, and Jack Grealish, a standout for Manchester City, were present. Megan Davison, Pickford's wife, and Daisy, Maguire's sister, served as bridesmaids, and the newlywed couple's kids Lillie Saint, three, and Piper Rose, two, served as flower girls.
