According to reports, Manchester United is 'trying' to sign Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio this summer.
Apparently, United, Chelsea, and Italian powerhouse AC Milan are all interested in signing the Spain international, according to a report by the Spanish daily Sport. Asensio's contract at the Bernabeu expires next summer, and Madrid isn't willing to offer him a new one that satisfies his alleged wage expectations.
Madrid wants to hang onto him, but his present demands are viewed as being too unreasonable. It implies that he may go this summer because the Spanish heavyweights would undoubtedly prefer a deal at a discount than losing him for nothing in a year.
Asensio is allegedly "up for sale" as a result, raising the possibility of bids arriving in Madrid's inbox. His estimated current worth is £35.5 million.
Last season, the attacker, who primarily operates as a right winger, was a mainstay in Carlo Ancelotti's lineup, making 42 appearances. He contributed two assists along with his 12 goals.
United is currently prepared to join the competition to sign Juventus center-back Matthijs de Ligt. According to Sport Witness, which quoted an article from the Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, United is taking their interest seriously.
United, who are still trying to sign fellow Dutchman Frenkie de Jong, are said to be "ready to forcefully join the scene" for the 22-year-old, according to the report. De Ligt and United's manager Erik ten Hag were coworkers at Ajax.
Chelsea is currently showing interest in the Dutch international, who joined Juventus almost three years ago and is regarded as one of the best center backs in European football. Like United, the Blues are keen to improve their defensive options this summer.
