Chelsea has yet to sign a player despite the departures of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, and Romelu Lukaku, with Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso also considering moves to Barcelona as free agents.

This is quite remarkable given the amount of faith Chelsea supporters had in American owner Todd Boehly and his group. Instead, a mass clearance is underway in preparation for the club's new board members to be appointed.

Since the start of the transfer window, the London club has been linked with a number of high-profile players, including Jules Kounde, Nathan Ake, Ousmane Dembele, and Raheem Sterling.

According to the Express Sport, Barcelona's ace Ousmane Dembele has been given 72 hours to decide his future, with the 24-year-old winger expected to join Chelsea as a free agent after rejecting PSG.

Thomas Tuchel is considering bolstering his final third with Timo Werner or Pulisic tipped to be included in Matthijs De Ligt's swap deal.

Ideally, an injury-free Dembele is an exceptional player who could be a perfect target for Tuchel's misfiring front line.

Manchester United's dressing room became "split" as a result of a captaincy dispute between Harry Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Maguire took over as United captain six months after joining from Leicester City in an £80 million deal after Ashley Young left for Inter Milan.

However, now that the spotlight is on him, the England international has been widely chastised for his performances and a perceived lack of leadership qualities.

When Cristiano Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d'Or winner and one of the game's greats, returned to United in the summer, the scrutiny only grew.

Ronaldo scored 18 goals, but United finished sixth with their lowest points total in Premier League history and a minus one goal difference.

According to Simon Stone of the BBC, the squad was fractured over a full-fledged disagreement over who should be the captain at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo, Portugal's captain, is said to have been at the center of the argument, which is said to have made Maguire unhappy.

Despite a rumored power struggle under interim manager Ralf Rangnick, Maguire has remained United captain.

However, it is unclear whether new manager Erik ten Hag will keep Maguire as captain, with some reports claiming that goalkeeper David De Gea is the favorite to take over the armband if a change is deemed necessary.

Ronaldo's future at Manchester United has been called into question just a year into his second stint.
