Abdou Diallo linked with AC Milan move
PSG centre-back Abdou Diallo (26) could leave the Parc des Princes this summer and is of interest to Italian side AC Milan, who are looking to bolster their defensive options, according to Fabrizio Romano. Romano is reporting that the Serie A champions’ interest in the Senegalese international precedes the current transfer window. He was already on Paolo Maldini’s list back in January. Signed from Borussia Dortmund back in 2019 for a reported €32m fee, Diallo was restricted to just 12 Ligue 1 appearances last season and has seen himself fall down the pecking order at the Parisian side. AC Milan aren’t the only suitor. According to Romano, he has “many proposals” and he will make a decision on his future soon. Having missed out on Sven Botman (22), whose transfer to Newcastle from Lille was confirmed on Tuesday, Milan are scouting alternatives in the defensive department, and Diallo has reportedly made the shortlist. Five players on PSG's 'chopping block'
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly put five stars up for sale, including a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations-winning duo. The French giants recently confirmed the sale of goalkeeper Alphonse Areola to Premier League outfit West Ham United for £7.75 million (R150 million), per Sky Sports. Scroll through the gallery above to see the five players PSG are looking to offload, according to L'Equipe With the Parisians' new football advisor Luis Campos said to have initiated a revamp of the squad, more players are set to make their way through the Parc des Princes' exit door. According to L'Equipe, the club is now ready to follow Areola's departure with the offloading of another goalkeeper as well as the Senegalese pair of Idrissa Gueye and Abdou Diallo, who were part of the Lions of Teranga team that triumphed at Afcon 2021 in February. In the January window, Diallo was linked with a switch to AC Milan, and it is understood the Serie A giants' interest in the player has not died down, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that the Italian champions are still in the running to sign the defender. "Abdou Diallo has many proposals so he could leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer. AC Milan are interested in signing him, not the only name – he was already on Paolo Maldini's list last January," Romano wrote on Twitter. Diallo's compatriot Gueye has one year left on his contract, and the Ligue 1 club is understood to be ready to cash in on him rather than risk losing the midfielder as a free agent next season.
