Mensah Thompson, one of the Arise Ghana leaders, dared the Ghana Police to make public the pictures of the 12 injured policemen.

Following the Ghana Police's observation that demonstrators assaulted some policemen during the demonstration on Tuesday night, this challenge was issued.

They claim that 12 of its personnel have suffered injuries of varying severity as a result.

Mr. Thompson said that the police force could only offer proof of one officer's injuries.

Call the Ghana Police Service and ask them to publish all the photos of the 12 police personnel who, according to them, were hurt by Arise Ghana.

He said that "all the violence and mistakes observed today were all planned by the police" in an interview with Top Story on Tuesday.

He said that because the Police were stationed there and given the duty to quell the residents' protests, "this degree of unprofessionalism won't be acceptable."

The police have, however, also highlighted that the pressure group unprovokedly attacked them.

Arise Ghana, a pressure organisation, took to the streets of Accra on Tuesday to protest the nation's deteriorating economic situation.

The Ghana Police Service set up two mobile police hospital units to help protesters and law enforcement personnel who might require medical assistance. This allowed for a peaceful rally.

Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), asked the police participating in the exercise to treat the demonstrators with respect and decency.

However, tear gas and rubber bullets were used as a result of a standoff between certain demonstrators and the Police.

Three demonstrators, according to sources, were also detained.
