The fling between Takumi Minamino and Liverpool is finished.
Following Takumi Minamino's departure from Anfield, LIVERPOOL has released an emotional statement.
The Japanese international's romance with the Reds came to an end last week when he signed a four-year contract with Monaco, a team that spent £15.5 million to hire him.
Despite not being able to secure a regular spot in the starting XI for the Merseysiders, Liverpool's acquisition of Minamino from Red Bull Salzburg for a pitiful £7.65 million was adored by fans and teammates alike.
"Liverpool FC can confirm Takumi Minamino has today completed a permanent transfer to AS Monaco," the club's statement began. Minamino leaves Anfield for Ligue 1 after spending two and a half years as a Red, appearing in 55 games overall, scoring 14 goals, and contributing three assists."
Another passage said: "Because of his talent and superior demeanor, Klopp once called Minamino a "coach's dream," and the manager agreed that the No. 18 was worthy of many more starting positions.
"But whether it was on the field during games or in the weight room, Minamino made the most of every opportunity. He undoubtedly contributes to establishing our standards, according to Klopp.
Accordingly, Minamino leaves Liverpool having made a lasting impression on his teammates, coaches, and the club's honors list. "Everyone at LFC would like to thank Taki for his contributions and wish him luck in the next chapter of his career," the club said."
Jurgen Klopp, the manager of the Reds, was astounded by Minamino's professionalism while he was at Anfield and acknowledges that his absence will be felt.
"It's difficult to see Taki leave, but it's a terrific step for him and one he richly deserves," the German remarked. a fantastic professional and a very gifted player." He is a pleasant, friendly person who uplifts everyone around him. To be honest, that was a manager's fantasy. There will undoubtedly be others who feel that it didn't quite work out. Those who believe this are mistaken. I disagree with that. In terms of opportunities to start matches, his contribution much exceeds what we were able to provide.
"He improved us every single day he was with us, not just during the games he participated in but also during every single training session.
"Perfect attitude and winning mindset. We have had to renovate the Champions Wall so frequently because of his contributions, both on the field and off it. His accomplishments in this area will endure."
The 27-year-old Minamino is excited to start the newest chapter of his career and expressed his happiness at joining AS Monaco.
I'm thrilled to be a part of this incredibly interesting project at a Ligue 1 team with a rich history and a solid reputation.
I'm eager to get to know my new surroundings and contribute in any way I can to the team.
