Chelsea might be about to make Manchester United's already challenging transfer window even more stressful. Red Devils target player Antony, a winger for Ajax, is thought to be of interest to the Blues.

According to 90min, Thomas Tuchel, who needs offensive reinforcements this summer, is seriously considering Antony. Additionally, while in London, it was claimed that the player's representatives spoke with Chelsea's worried employees.

It might turn out to be a major setback for United, who had been prominently connected to Antony. The 22-year-old Brazilian winger spent the previous two seasons with Ajax under current United manager Erik ten Hag, where they won two Eredivise championships. The winger was interested in a transfer to Old Trafford, according to The Times on June 23. According to their source, the winger is committed to joining United even though Ajax is attempting to downplay the deal by asking for £69 million for the player. The Brazilian is eager to collaborate with Ten Hag in the Premier League, they also said. According to the 90min report, Chelsea is prioritising the acquisitions of Raheem Sterling and Ousmane Dembele above Antony. Sterling is rumoured to be up for sale, while Dembele's relationship with Barcelona is still unclear.

United would be concerned if the Blues turned to Antony if they were unable to clinch either deal. Although Frenkie de Jong's transfer is still a ways off, Manchester United is quite keen on it. Manchester United may find it difficult to win the race for Antony since the Blues might provide the Brazilian an incentive to play in the Champions League next year.

Targets for Chelsea and Manchester United were absent from the Ajax workout

Two days earlier, Antony was noticeably absent from Ajax's preseason practise. It might be excellent news for his summer suitors. According to The Sun, Alfred Schreuder, the new manager of Ajax, was working with his players for the first time, but he was unable to work with Antony.

The new Ajax manager emphasised that they want to keep the Chelsea and Manchester United target in Amsterdam this summer when discussing his suggestion. "We want Antony to stay at Ajax. The club is aware of my desire to collaborate with him."

It will be intriguing to see how the 22-year-old Ajax man's upcoming weeks turn out.
