Chelsea has struggled to find consistent goal scorers capable of scoring more than 20 goals per season and winning the Premier League golden boot. The Blues have signed some top talents who had high expectations in the London side, but the majority of them have failed miserably.
The former Champions League winner has seen some of the game's most promising strikers fail to deliver at Stamford Bridge. Almost every striker who joins Chelsea fails to deliver, regardless of how prolific he was previously.
Great players such as Romelu Lukaku, Fernando Torres, Alvaro Morata, and Gonzalo Higuain all struggled at Chelsea and were eventually sold.
They couldn't score more than 20 goals in a single season for Chelsea, whether in all competitions or in league matches. Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, on the other hand, was the last Chelsea player to score 20 Premier League goals in a single season.
During the 2009/2010 season, the Ivorian international scored 29 league goals and assisted on ten others. Since then, no Chelsea player has ever done this in the Premier League, including Eden Hazard and Diego Costa, who were both excellent goal scorers for the club.
No striker signed by the club after Drogba's departure has ever scored 20 goals in Premier League matches. The Blues have always struggled with strikers, who rarely perform well at the club.
After failing to deliver, the club recently loaned Belgium's Romelu Lukaku back to his former club Inter Milan. It will take more time for the Blues to have a brilliant striker like Drogba, one of the club's all-time greats.
Real Madrid football club are not resting on their laurels despite winning both the Spanish La Liga and the UEFA Champions League during the recently concluded 2021/2022 season.
Remember that Los Blancos beat second-place Barcelona to win the Spanish La Liga title, as well as defeating Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League final.
Following these victories, Real Madrid has strengthened their current squad by confirming the signings of Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni from Chelsea and AS Monaco, respectively.
However, it appears that Real Madrid is not finished yet, as they have now completed the signing of highly-rated Deportivo La Coruna centre-forward Noel Lopez during the summer transfer window.
