Thiago Silva believes Neymar, his Brazilian teammate, should join him at Chelsea this summer.

Uncertainty about Neymar's future at PSG has grown in recent weeks, with reports claiming that the French club is willing to sell him during this transfer window.

Chelsea has emerged as a possible summer target for Neymar, 30.

He [Neymar] has to go to Chelsea," Silva, who worked under current Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel at PSG, told reporters while on vacation in Recife, Brazil. "If it happens, it will be the best thing that could happen. I hope it happens, but I don't know anything about it.

Neymar, who joined PSG in a world record €222 million transfer from Barcelona in 2017, has spent five seasons with the club.

On several occasions, he has been linked with former club Barcelona.

According to L'Equipe, Neymar's contract with PSG expires in June 2025, but it will be automatically extended until July 1, 2027.

Despite winning Ligue 1, Neymar had a disappointing season, scoring 13 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions.

Fans booed the former Santos star and several other PSG players after the team was eliminated from the Champions League in the round of 16 by Real Madrid.

Chelsea has emerged as a summer target for Neymar.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi appeared to send a warning to the club's stars when he recently spoke about the club's new direction, saying it's "the end of glitter" at the club and they no longer want "flashy, bling-bling.

Tite, Brazil's coach, believes PSG has played Neymar out of position.

Neymar is a solution, not a problem," Tite said in a recent podcast.

If I'm watching the game and a coach puts Neymar on the wing, I'll call him a donkey... When a player with these qualities does this, he severely limits his creative capacity. Creativity is not a constant; it is an eventuality, a circumstance. He will make more mistakes while playing inside, because his creative ability and the position he is in require it. But I believe he will be decisive when he employs his imagination.

The French champions are undergoing transformation.

Former Nice manager Christophe Galtier is expected to take over as PSG coach in place of Mauricio Pochettino.

Following Leonardo's dismissal, the club named Luis Campos as its new football advisor earlier this month.
