SENIOR MILITARY OFFICER MAKES GHANA PROUD

Colonel Isaac Amponsah, a senior military officer in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), has made Ghana proud by being the only African to get a prize from the National Defense University in Washington, D.C., USA.

On Wednesday, June 8, 2022, he received a Master of Arts in Strategic Security Studies degree with distinction from the College.

 

 

Colonel Amponsah was one of nine graduates who received the "Distinguished Graduate" certificate from the College, according to a press release signed by the Director of Public Affairs of GAF, Naval Captain Michael Addo Larbi. Colonel Amponsah received nine "A" grades and three "A Minus" grades (A-) out of the course's 12 graded subjects.

 

"His accomplishment not only brings honour to the Ghana Armed Forces and the country of Ghana, but also to the continent of Africa. Colonel Amponsah was the only African named among the winners of awards from the university's four colleges, he said.

 

 

 

In addition to Algeria, Botswana, Cameroon, Egypt, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Somalia, Tanzania, and Tunisia, other African countries represented among those who received degrees from the university were:

The National Defense University has four faculties, one of which is the College of International Security Affairs (CISA).

 

 

 

Originally known as the School for National Security Executive Education, CISA was founded in 2002 with the goal of educating and preparing future military and civilian national security professionals as well as future leaders from the USA.

The College serves as a Department of Defense flagship for education and the development of US partner country capabilities in the strategic fight against terrorism and irregular warfare (IW).
