NPP CONDUCTS BALLOTING FOR NATIONAL POSITION ASPIRANTS

All candidates for New Patriotic Party (NPP) national executive seats have selected their places on the ballot.

The Electoral Commission oversaw the exercise, which took place on Monday, June 27, 2022, at the Party's headquarters in Accra.

 

 

The Accra Sports Stadium will host the NPP's national leadership elections from July 15 to July 17, 2022.

 

 

According to a news statement from the party, the National Elections Committee thoroughly examined and questioned the listed candidates' documentation before determining that they were competent to run for office.

 

 

According to the list, eight people are running for chairperson.

 

They are Sammy Crabbe, Prof. Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, Akwasi Osei Adjei, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, Joseph Ayikoi Otoo, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, and George Kwabena Abankwah-Yeboah. Gifty Ama Asantewaa Ayeh, also known as Daavi Ama, is the only female among them.

 

 

 

 

 

The incumbent, John Boadu, is one of six candidates vying for the office of general secretary.

 

According to the announcement, there are over 40 candidates vying for eight positions in the party.

 

 

 

Positions

 

The National Chairman position, First and Second National Vice-Chairmanships, General Secretary, National Treasurer, National Organiser, Women's Organiser, National Youth Organiser, and National Nasara Coordinator are the posts that will be up for election.

 

 

 

11 people applied to run for the office of National Vice-Chairman.

 

They are Edmond Oppong Peprah, Alhaji Masawudu Osman, McJewells J. Annan, Rita Asobayire, Kwaku Nkansah, Kinston Akomeng Kissi, Michael Omari Wadie, and Rita Asobayire.

 

 

 

Danquah Smith, Ismael Yahuza, Nuworsu Ken-Wuud, and Alfred T. Boye make up the remaining group.

 

 

 

 

 

E. Mary Posch-Oduro, Collins Nuntwiri Nuamah, Dr. Charles Dwamena, and Dr. I. I. Yussif Tedem are the contenders for the job of National Treasurer.

 

 

 

Organisers

 

For the role of National Organiser, seven candidates—Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, Eric Amoako Twum, Bright Essilfie Kumi, Der Kwame Afriyie, Henry Nana Boakye, Seth Adu-Adjei, and Nana Owusu Fordjour—will compete.

 

 

 

In addition to Hajia Sawudatu Saeed, Ellen Ama Daaku, and Akosua Serwaa Bonsu, the current Women's Organiser, Kate Gyamfua, would also have to deal with Prince Kamal Gumah, Salam Mustapha, Abanga Yakubu Fusani, and Michael Osei.
