‘NO SCIENTIFIC PROOF SUCKING BREAST CURES OR CAUSES CANCER’ - RADIOGRAPHER

There is no scientific evidence, according to Ms. Grace Anim, a radiographer at the Peace and Love Hospital, that sucking the breast may either treat or cause breast cancer.

"There is no scientific evidence that if your spouse drinks it, you would get cured if you have the ailment. Furthermore, there is no scientific evidence, according to Ms. Anim, that you would contract the illness from your partner sucking it.

Therefore, fiddling with the breast has nothing to do with contracting the condition or treating it, she continued.

When the Bethel Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church, Osu hosted a free health screening event for locals and church members in Accra on Sunday, Ms. Anim made this statement.

The radiographer advised ladies to be familiar with their breasts and to check them frequently to see if anything was amiss or had changed.

"We urge every woman to be aware of her breasts, to inspect them, and to be aware of their condition. You must perform a self-examination while the breast is free to determine the location of your breast, she said.

"Since our guys may hold it at any moment, you can check your breast whenever it is free. So, fumble with it whenever it is out of the brassiere to get used to using your breast with your hands. You will also be the first to notice an issue if there is one, she noted.

Ms. Anim also counselled ladies to practise good hygiene since infections might harm the breast.

"We females perspire a lot near our breasts. One black brassiere, for instance, can be worn for six months without being washed. She emphasised that "others have converted their brassieres into banks where women save their money."

She questioned, "Don't you know that crazy individuals purchase 'waakye,' and that when you inadvertently take such money and place it under your breast where you sweat a lot, you develop an infection.

Every woman should get a baseline mammogram at age 40, according to Ms. Anim once more.
