I didn't know how to talk to her. Since divorcing Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, after 27 years of marriage, she has undergone various name changes.

When the pair announced their breakup, she changed her name from Melinda Gates to Melinda French Gates, adding her maiden name.

However, she identified herself as Melinda Gates when we first spoke for our interview. That ended the matter.

If I had my way, I would have focused on her private life. life following marriage. What was the dating environment like for a divorced lady who made a billion dollars? Who would have the nerve to propose to her? the topics that both you and I find most intriguing.

But she wished to talk about her job.

The largest charitable initiative in the world is arguably the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. A large portion of the funds were used to combat malaria and other deadly illnesses in Africa.

She expressed her frustration at how much of the advancements gained in the battle against malaria prior to the Covid-19 outbreak have been reversed as malaria incidence have increased.

However, Ms. Gates expressed optimism over the advancement of vaccinations.

We also discussed Covid's effects, and she expressed hope that wealthier nations would do more to aid in the recovery of African economies.

At the conclusion of our conversation, I inquire on her condition. The year couldn't have been simple.   She expresses her gratitude for her supportive friends and family and thanks me for the question.

I playfully remarked to her, "I thought you were going to inform me that you are going on a date. Maybe later, she chuckled in response.

I was still curious about her opinion of marriage, though.

She remarked that she was delighted for anyone who was fortunate enough to discover the ideal mate.

I continue to support marriage.
