The out-of-favor Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio, who has also been linked to Serie A powerhouse Juventus, is apparently a player Arsenal are interested in signing.

The 26-year-old has slipped down the ladder at the Santiago Bernabeu after rising through the ranks at Mallorca before joining Madrid in 2014. In 2111 total game minutes last season across all competitions, he scored 12 goals and added two assists.

Asensio will soon begin the last year of his contract at the Bernabeu, but no renewal has been reached. He is eager to transfer to a team where he will play frequently. He has been associated with many clubs this summer as a result.

Arsenal and Juventus are serious competitors to sign Asensio, according to AS (via Sport Witness). The defending Serie A winners AC Milan are also vying to sign the midfielder, who is valued at €40 million, from Real Madrid.

The newspaper also stated that negotiations are apparently being set up by Asensio's agent, Jorge Mendes. Mikel Arteta, the manager of the Gunners, is'supporting' the effort to recruit his fellow countryman.

The north London club previously encountered a roadblock in their pursuit of Raphinha, a forward for Leeds United. According to renowned transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are in prime position to sign the Brazilian. Asensio, unlike Raphinha, has never played in the Premier League, but his talent for artistic finishes and defense-splitting passes make him a desirable alternative.

Arsenal's offence will be strengthened by Gabriel Jesus.

Arsenal has finalised the £45 million acquisition of Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus, according to Fabrizio Romano. According to Romano, the Brazilian international has finished his medicals in north London.

The 25-year-old made 41 appearances last season and contributed to 25 goals. Alongside Eddie Nketiah, he will now be in charge of directing the assault at the Emirates. He is expected to be Arteta's fourth acquisition of the summer, pending official club confirmation. The Arsenal have confirmed the signings of Marquinhos from Sao Paulo, goalkeeper Matt Turner from the New England Revolution, and midfielder Fabio Vieira from Porto. Richarlison, a forward for Everton, Lisandro Martinez, a centre back for Ajax, and Youri Tielemans, a midfielder for Leicester City, according to The Daily Mail, Sky Sports, and (via David Ornstein).

On August 5, Arsenal plays Crystal Palace away from home to begin their 2022–23 Premier League season.
