Demands for the rapid payment of Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) to all public sector employees have increased due to pressure from the Trades Union Congress (TUC).

Dr. Yaw Baah, the general secretary of the Congress, claims that recommendations for the government's 20 percent COLA have already been given, and they anticipate prompt action.

He told JoyNews that if nothing is done to meet their demand, they would be forced to resort to industrial activities.

"They haven't given COLA any attention; no one has phoned to discuss COLA, so we wrote," We believed the President would take us seriously after hearing our unique request on May Day, but neither he nor any of the ministers responded.

"So, we formally requested that he pay, and that letter was just sent on Monday [June 27]. We are not just interested in doing things to hurt the economy; we also have time. We anticipate that the government will begin negotiating the COLA with us, he said Samuel Mbura of JoyNews.

By the end of the day on Thursday, June 30, the administration is anticipated to come to a deal with some teacher unions.

the Coalition of Concerned Teachers, the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), and the Ghana National Association of Teachers are among the unions (GNAT).

Bright Wireko-Brobbey, the deputy labour minister, said the administration is optimistic about coming to an agreement with the groups.

"I'm still looking for signs that we should get together so that all parties can participate and the results can be made clear to you [teachers]," the speaker said. Let's cross our fingers for the best.

It is common knowledge that things are tough. It is a truth. Teachers make up the majority of the workforce in our nation, and I must admit that the public sector labour deserves praise.
