Transfer rumours: Barcelona look to beat Chelsea for signing of Raphinha, Juventus eye Liverpool star Firmino

In an effort to beat Chelsea and entice the forward to the Nou Camp, Barcelona is anxious to recruit Brazilian winger Raphinha and has made a "verbal pitch" to Leeds. Juventus, on the other side, is interested in signing Roberto Firmino, the star forward for Liverpool.Raphinha, a Brazilian footballer currently playing for Leeds United, is in high demand for this summer's transfer window. Clubs like Barcelona, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Chelsea have all expressed interest in signing Raphinha. Fabrizio Romano claims that Barcelona are in front in their pursuit of the Leeds winger since they have made a verbal offer for Raphinha.

The La Liga team and the Brazilian winger reached a personal agreement in April, but due to Leeds' challenging financial condition, an agreement on a fee has not been reached.

Chelsea, on the other hand, saw a significant improvement in their efforts to recruit Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus after the CEO of the Bianconeri, Maurizio Arrivabene, revealed that the Serie A powerhouses would not attempt to keep any players against their will.

The 22-year-old Dutch defender made 117 appearances for the Italian team after completing a high-profile transfer from Ajax to Juve in the summer of 2019.

"It's challenging to keep a player, but everyone present at the negotiation table needs to feel satisfied. Whoever has more cash wins.

Juventus, meanwhile, would like to acquire Roberto Firmino in exchange for French midfielder Adrien Rabiot from Liverpool. Liverpool is one of the clubs that the 27-year-old Rabiot would be interested in joining if he were to leave the Serie A giants this summer.

Notably, Juventus is looking to add a new attacker after Paulo Dybala, an attacker from Argentina, left the team when his contract expired. Kalvin Phillips, a 26-year-old midfielder for Leeds United and England, will undergo a medical at Manchester City on Friday before finalizing a £45 million transfer to the Premier League champions.
