The Professional Marketing Qualifications (PMQ) exams, which were held for the first time by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), have recognised excellent applicants.
The 32nd CIMG Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was held at the same location, was capped off with a lavish awards ceremony hosted at the Golden Tulip Hotel.
These exceptional candidates, who have dedicated themselves to obtaining professional marketing certifications, were honoured for three reasons: their performance in individual courses, their completion of certain paths (course levels), and their total success across all pathways. 13 contestants in all received awards for outstanding performance.
The Consulting Director of Education, Adam Sulley, described this achievement as "the frosting on the cake" for the qualified applicants following a long process of preparation in his opening remark.
The moment has come, according to Mr. Sulley, for business organisations to pay attention to the items we are showcasing today. Given that each of them has proven to be capable of carrying out marketing activities competently, it is a good idea to employ their services and assign them specialised jobs within the marketing departments of organisations, according to their areas of competence. By the time students finish the full course, they will be experienced professionals in all facets of marketing who are prepared to assist in creating enduring corporate and product brands.
The honorees were presented with diplomas and other book prizes from EPP Book Services, which helped by promoting books for the several academic areas in which they excelled.
Dr. Bright Kyei Wiredu, a licenced medical doctor, won the overall best student award for Pathway 3 and enthusiastically stated, "Acquiring the professional marketing qualification is a pivot for the success of my entrepreneurial ambitions and future endeavours. I would stay focused to ensure that I qualify as a professional Marketer very soon."
Dr. Wiredu won awards for being the top student in selling and sales management as well as for finishing Pathway 3. As a result, he won three prizes in all.
Daniel Nomo was the most sought honoree of the evening, taking home five awards and a tonne of book prizes from EPP Book Services. He won first place in all of his classes, including Strategic Marketing Management, Integrated Marketing Communications, and Strategic Marketing in Practice.
Mr. Nomo expressed his joy at the recognition he has been able to earn since enrolling in the PMQ. Since these are the first tests, he said: "It is certainly a joyous moment. The five awards and, more significantly, the recognition are exciting and an honour for me, especially with marketing and HR professionals from the business watching us at the event.
My confidence has increased as a result of the training, he said.
Mr. Nomo is upbeat about the future and eager to play important roles in the formulation and implementation of business strategy, responsibilities that he feels are lacking in most organisations. This is because to his experience with the CIMG PMQ.
The second examinations ever held by the CIMG and the first for the year 2022 were started by the following group of candidates on Monday, June 27, 2022.
Additionally, holders of the Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (DipM) from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK, and other comparable degrees from marketing institutes recognised by the CIMG were presented with the Professional Marketer (ProM) Qualification that evening.
The Professional Marketing Certificate from CIMG, which enables holders to practise the marketing profession as individuals or launch professional marketing consulting businesses, depending on the number of years post-qualification, has been granted and is therefore eligible to be used by the recipients.
