For information exchange and a tour of its operations and sorting procedures, the executives of the Ghana Post paid a visit to the Royal Mail at its Mount Pleasant Mail Centre, its largest sorting centre in London.

The group from the Ghana Post met with important figures during the tour, including Antony Harvey, the international managing director, and Ben Holmes, the head of international relations, thanks to the assistance of the Grow, Unite and Build Africa (GUBA) Enterprise.

Then Jay Brooks, the property manager, invited the group on a tour of Mount Pleasant.

The tour was good because it gave the Ghana Post team a chance to see how effective the Royal Mail is and how the firm has overcome its obstacles, according to Bice Osei Kuffour, CEO of Ghana Post.

"Ghana Post has much to learn from the Royal Mail regarding investment in new areas of the postal value chain and the use of automation for an enhanced and efficient operation," says one of the best service providers in the West Africa sub-region and the most dependable provider of postal, courier, and e-commerce services.

The Ghana Post team explored potential areas of specialisation and requested technical support for enhancing present procedures in order to provide unrivalled mail delivery in the subregion.

According to Harvey of the Royal Mail, "The Royal Mail has transitioned from operating manually to automating its procedures and operations with a particular focus on the use of technology."

Using its Intelligent Letter Sorting Machines, the firm uses technology to sort up to 40,000 letters every day at Mount Pleasant alone.

The Royal Mail is now giving priority to parcel services throughout the UK with the creation of parcel Super Hubs in the North-West of England and, as of 2023, the Midlands. This is due to the reduction in letters as a result of the great interest in and trend in email use.

The Royal Mail is already processing up to 800,000 packages every day in its Warrington super hub as a result of the increase in online retail transactions.

"Among other things, the tour supported by GUBA is part of our aim to ensure synergy between indigenous Ghanaian enterprises and comparable peers," According to Dentaa Amoateng MBE, CEO and President of GUBA Enterprise, there are opportunities for collaboration, knowledge acquisition, and technical help in Europe and the USA.

Nick Landon, the company's chief commercial officer, Kevin Cooper, the head of processing design, and Eric Ashiagbor, the manager of the London Jubilee Plant, were all present at the meeting as important Royal Mail officials.
