The hoodoo surrounding celebrity marriages worldwide has equally toed the same line and, sadly, those we look up to and inspire us to enter into the honorable institution of marriage continue to defile it.
In Nollywood, we have been served with marriage breakups over the years that most of us never saw coming.
In the last couple of hours, two Nigerian thespians have had their marriage tumbling to the ground in a manner that has reinforced that marriage could be a scam after all.
Let’s revisit the issue in case most of you missed it;
1.Charity Faani Eke (Chacha Eke)
The beautiful Nigerian actress gave us a glimpse of his marital woes two years ago when she was spotted in a video crying and revealing that she was done with her marriage because she could no longer withstand the torture at the hands of her husband Austin Faani.
Sensationally, she emerged in a fresh video days later to say the first video was done spontaneously owing to her bipolar disorder.
To prove that indeed she goofed and her paradise of marriage was still intact, she got pregnant and delivered their fourth child.
Furthermore, she and her husband and the entire family have been serving us with a couple of goals surrounded by bliss and warmth which ultimately gave us no option but to accept that her marriage was formidable.
Well, that facade did not live long after the actress stormed IG on July 28 to reveal that she lied about the aforementioned, and this time around, she was done with the marriage.
Many have died pretending all is well whilst wishing, hoping, and praying for a better tomorrow.
I don’t want to “die” or go inexplicably “missing”. I sincerely and publicly apologize for living a lie these past years. True to random speculations, there has been trouble in my “perceived paradise”. For the 2nd time in 2years, I am here again on social media boldly declaring that I am done with my marriage.
My long overdue/relentless stance on this is of course no news to Austin Faani, the doctors, and my parents.
If push comes to shove & suddenly I am incommunicado; my lawyers, the welfare department, and the Nigerian police force have my testimonials in recorded video clips/statements set for public release on all social media apps and national newspapers.
2. Funke Akindele and JJC Skills
There have been always issues with this couple but apparently, JJC Skillz has been doing everything possible to fix it until his wobbly attempt gave way to the skeletons in their troubled closet.
On Thursday, he sadly announced thus;
“Dear friends and family, I need to let you know that Funke and I have separated… I know I have tried my best to fix things but I believe it is beyond repair now.”
According to him, the last two years have been extremely difficult and he moved out 3 months ago which ultimately confirms what Benito, Funke’s stepson has been saying in the public domain all this while.
JJC Skillz’s son has previously accused the 45-year-old actress and filmmaker of being rude and cheating, claiming she is not actually what people think she is.
Benito added that she made his life a living hell while he lived in the same house with her for two years.
“She’s not what you all think she is, I lived with her for 2 years, It was horror,” he had said in a trending video.
