Joel Deque, a tourist marketer in the Volta area, has encouraged the government to foster an atmosphere that will encourage investors to put in the money required to overhaul the economy.

This comes after the authorities neglected a sizable clay deposit discovered on the island of Bomigo in the Anloga District of the Volta region several years ago, despite promises made to the locals and potential investors to develop the product to help the Anloga District's and the Volta region's economy.

If the project is successful, it will significantly improve the region's and its citizens' economic circumstances, as well as those of the entire nation.

According to Mr. Deque, there is an urgent need for political will to attract investors, particularly international ones, to the clay deposit.

Government instructed to create an atmosphere that will encourage investors to exploit the Bomigo clay deposit in Anloga.

Bomigo Island's five million metric tonnes of clay are thought to have a 50-year lifespan and high plasticity.

Mr. Deque also discussed the potential for tourism in Bomigo, which has to be taken advantage of, in addition to the vast amounts of clay on the island.

The island of Bomigo's 15 metric tonnes of clay reserves were expected to be developed in 2013, with an estimated $3.8 billion to be invested.

The US and certain Gulf nations were to provide funding for the project, which was an idea of the Anlo Traditional Council, Norris Hills and Partners of France, and the former Keta Municipal Assembly.

One may make hollow bricks, roofing tiles, dinnerware, and plumbing fittings out of clay.

One of the largest and most picturesque islands in the nation, Bomigo has a wealth of unexplored tourist attractions.

On the Keta district of the Volta Region of Ghana, the settlement is an island with roughly 1500 residents in the coastal areas adjacent to Anloga.

It is a town that is 146 kilometres away from Ho and is encircled by the Keta Lagoon's saline waters.

Young Egbe Azumah, a ceramics enthusiast and influential member of the community, claimed that the clay industry offers several prospects for both government and private companies to profit from.
