All deserving but impoverished students, particularly female students, may apply for educational scholarships through the North Tongu District Assembly's newly established programme.

This is one method of boosting the education of girls in the district, according to the DCE for the area, Osborne Divine Fenu, who was speaking during the dedication of a six-unit classroom building at the Battor Vome Methodist Primary School by the Pencils of Promise.

Mr. Fenu stated that he attaches a great deal of attention to matters relating to education in the North Tongu District and that the assembly is making every effort to ensure that the district's educational system is improved.

He pointed out that the primary difficulty arises when projects are commissioned for usage in this manner.

"In other words, the lack of a maintenance culture among Ghanaians. As a result, I'm pleading with the different parties involved to assume control of the facility, Mr. Fenu stated.

In order to enhance their reading abilities, he pushed all students in the district to at the very least develop the habit of reading.

"I urge all students to make it a point to read at least one picture book every week," Mr. Fenu added. "Our youngsters will get educated and their goals will be fulfilled with the support of our instructors."

With the assistance of the Akufo-Addo-led administration, he continued, "I have huge intentions for the district in terms of education, and I aim to do all humanly necessary to see that it is realised."

Torgbe Patamia Dzekle VII, the paramount chief of the Battor Traditional Area, expressed concern that youngsters were frequently observed attending wakes and funerals rather than attending school.

Torgbe Patamia observed that the pattern is worrisome and that if nothing is done about it, things may go wrong and the children's lives might be lost.

He added that the troubling scenario is also impacted by a lack of parental attention and oversight.

"Our kids are never seen at wakes or at funerals reading or relaxing at home. Torgbe Patamia added, "I am personally concerned about the trend and encourage parents to take care of their children in order to avoid any unexpected occurrences.

Parents and educators thanked the company for the thoughtful act and pledged to embrace the maintenance culture.
