Italian city of Salerno, 30 November On November 30, 2021, in Salerno, Italy, Matthijs de Ligt of Juventus during the Serie A match between US Salernitana and Juventus at Stadio Arechi.
It was reported that Chelsea, who have shown considerable interest in Juventus center-back Matthis De Ligt, have been offered a swap deal for the player. The Italian juggernauts are rumored to be interested in Timo Werner, and they allegedly informed the Blues that a deal might materialize if Werner and De Ligt were traded.
De Ligt's Juventus Campaign prior season
De Ligt had a strong season at the Allianz Stadium last year, making some commanding performances at the center of the Old Lady's backline. Over 42 appearances last season on all fronts, the 37-time Netherlands international scored three goals and made one assist.
In Serie A, the former Ajax star did well, averaging 1.1 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, and 3.1 clearances each game. In the Italian first division, he had exceptional ball distribution skills, finishing 88.9% of his attempted passes (stats via whoscored).

Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea's manager, should consider moving.
De Ligt is a formidable presence in the back third of the field. He can make some strong tackles and a few smart interceptions to help his team get the ball back. The Dutch heavyweight can overpower his opponents in the air because to his height 1.89m frame, and he doesn't think twice about putting his body on the line to stop an incoming shot. He can instantly recognize a threat and set up his lines to stop the assailants in their tracks.
After losing Antonio Rudiger, the Blues needed to bolster their defense, and De Ligt seems the ideal candidate. Timo Werner's return to form had already been questioned by Timo Tuchel, who sought to capitalize on him. Tuchel would benefit greatly from Juventus' interest in him because it would allow him to hire De Ligt without having to fork over a significant number of money to do so.
There will not be a better offer for Timo Werner, therefore Thomas Tuchel would be prudent to pursue the swap deal since it benefits both parties. He would be sensible to bring him to Stamford Bridge this off-season.
