Done Deals: Richarlison, Andre Onana And Other 6 Summer Transfer Deals Completed Since 30/06/22
Many European clubs have finalized their summer contracts. Since their contracts expired and they are no longer obligated to their clubs, the majority of the players became free agents today. Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Andre Onana moved to Inter Milan as free agents in the summer. Romelu Lukaku will join them after completing his loan transfer earlier this week. Inter Milan has concluded transactions other than those involving Henrik Mkhitaryan and Onana. The Serie A powerhouses have also leased Kristjan Asllani. They made a 4 million Euro loan payment with a 10 million Euro purchase commitment. The teenager will be eager to perform next season and disprove his detractors.Stefan Ortega, a goalie, was signed by Manchester City, who had been fairly quiet in the summer transfer market since signing Erling Haaland. The goaltender will eagerly anticipate competing with Ederson Moraes for the starting position in the upcoming season. Corentin Tolisso, a free agent, also managed to secure a summer transfer. The 27-year-old free agent transferred from Bayern Munich to Lyon. Vitinha was successfully transferred from Porto to Paris Saint-Germain for a transfer fee of somewhere around 40 million euros. While Estac Troyes signed Savior for 6.5 million Euros in addition to 6 million in add-ons. Additionally, Tottenham finalized the 58 million euro purchase of Brazilian forward Richarlison from Everton.

Joe Gomez is a defender for Liverpool, and they want to lock him down with a new deal. Reasons for this include Virgil van Dijk, Man City, and the summer transfer market.Liverpool was emphatic that Virgil van Dijk was the only defender they wanted to bolster Jürgen Klopp's squad when they paid a record-breaking £75 million on him in January 2018.
In the same transfer window when the Reds signed Van Dijk, who solely wanted Anfield, Aymeric Laporte and other players were connected, but the Spanish international transferred to Manchester City for £57 million.
Along with the obvious (his talent), Liverpool paid a lot of money for Van Dijk since there weren't many other options available. There is little doubt that the Dutchman is the finest in the world at his position right now, but it is surprising how large of a gap there is from the competition.
The names that are being mentioned for moves and the rates at which they are being offered this summer alone show that there aren't enough players to play the position at a true high level.
Chelsea is one of the teams said to be interested in Matthijs de Ligt, who has a release clause at Juventus of €120 million (£103 million); they are reportedly offering £40 million plus a deal involving Timo Werner or Christian Pulisic.
Jules Koundé of Sevilla is valued at €60 million (£51 million), but he lacks Van Dijk's degree of leadership and experience. Koundé appeared to be leaving last summer, but he stayed put for an additional year.
Kalidou Koulibaly has been linked with a move away from Napoli every summer (and most Januarys) for what seems like forever. The 31-year-contract old's in Italy expires after one more season, and Barcelona is reportedly among the clubs interested in signing him.
Inter Milan's Milan Kriniar, who is valued at $60 million, has been mentioned in connection with Chelsea and Tottenham's search for a center-back. Spurs are in such a rush to bring in new players to please Antonio Conte that even Clément Lenglet's loan departure has received significant attention.
Five years after leaving Stamford Bridge for Bournemouth, Nathan Aké (plus £50 million) wants more playing time at Manchester City and may transfer to Chelsea or another team to find it.
The only other players to successfully compete with Van Dijk are Lucas Hernandez (£69m from Atlético Madrid to Bayern Munich and Harry Maguire (£80m from Leicester to Manchester United).
Chelsea is by far the team in the most need after losing Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rüdiger for free. Spurs, at least, only needed one last year because they signed Cristian Romero in the offseason.
However, Liverpool will be relieved not to have to enter the market given the lack of top-tier alternatives. They are eager to discuss an extension with Joe Gomez once preseason kicks out on Monday for just this reason.
