Mo Salah “so excited” to link up with Darwin Nunez after new Liverpool contract

Mohamed Salah talked about his new three-year deal with Liverpool, saying he was "very pleased" to team up with Darwin Nunez, an £85 million attacker. Salah's tenure with the Reds appeared to be coming to an end a year from now for a while because there was little sign of movement in the negotiations between the club and his agent.

But Liverpool pulled off a surprise on Friday when they revealed a new, long-term contract for their starting quarterback, who has now committed until 2025 on terms that can top £350,000 a week.

Anfield is undergoing a lot of upheaval right now, and Sadio Mane's exit made room for the club's record-breaking acquisition of Nunez from Benfica.

Salah's presence will remain consistent throughout this evolution, and the 30-year-old emphasized his eagerness to play with his new teammate in an interview with LFCTV following the news of his contract extension.

Salah said of Nunez, "I'm very excited, I want to play alongside him."

He played well against us both at home and away during the previous season.

"Sadio is also departing. We had successful seasons with the club, so I wish him the best. He will be missed.

Salah has 156 goals in just 254 games, making him the ninth-highest goalscorer in Liverpool history. He passed Harry Chambers, Sam Raybould, and Jack Parkinson in the most recent season. The Egyptian is clearly aiming higher, with these personal accolades motivating him to stay and drive the Reds to greater success. He can pass Michael Owen with another three goals, but it is clear that the Egyptian is aiming higher.

It's fantastic to see oneself at No. 9 among the club's top scorers, especially when you achieve it quickly, he continued.

It's a wonderful thing.

"I've said it before and I'll say it again: winning trophies is the most important thing, but I also believe that goals scored and games won by the team are also what lead to awards.

"I'm proud of it," you say.

Salah continued, "It's something incredible, especially when you do it in a short period of time, as a winger, with many assists.
