Chelsea: £102m star Tuchel’s ‘dream signing’ at Stamford Bridge
Dean Jones, a transfer insider, asserts that Chelsea are in a "great scenario" with regard to the desired Matthijs de Ligt.
Jones claims that the defender is Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea's ideal acquisition, and Juventus are willing to sell him this summer.
What is the most recent De Ligt news?
Maurizio Arrivabene, the CEO of Juventus, acknowledged to Tuttosport that it is impossible to retain any player who is dissatisfied at the Allianz Stadium.
He commented in response to Chelsea's interest in De Ligt, "It's tough to keep players when they want to leave the club, but all three parties in the discussions have to be satisfied."
The aforementioned occurs after it was said that the Italian giants rejected a cash and Timo Werner offer from the Blues for the 22-year-old.
The Daily Mail has since reported that Chelsea has picked up negotiations with Juventus and is prepared to add Christian Pulisic in any prospective deal. De Ligt has a £102 million release clause, but it's thought that the west London club is not willing to pay even close to that sum.
What has Jones said to Chelsea over De Ligt?
Jones believes Chelsea have a chance to sign De Ligt this summer since Juventus is prepared to move the Dutchman.
The journalist told GIVEMESPORT: "I mean, De Ligt is the ultimate signing. Tuchel would prefer to play this player than anyone else, so it's amazing to be in a situation where he might be available.
Although Juve seem to be somewhat receptive to it, which I'm not entirely sure they are now, this is encouraging.
What other center backs is Chelsea considering?
Chelsea has a long shortlist of defensive targets because they have lost both Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, which is understandable.
The Blues are rumored to be interested in signing both De Ligt and Nathan Ake in addition to De Ligt.
Chelsea's Mikael Forssell
The Telegraph claims that Chelsea and Manchester City are in negotiations for Ake and teammate Raheem Sterling to be purchased by Chelsea. Should Tuchel return to Stamford Bridge, the left-footed Netherlands international is likely to take Rudiger's place on the left side of the back three.
The same source claims that Jules Kounde of Sevilla is also a target for the team, and the dependable Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli and Milan Skriniar of Inter Milan are also on the club's radar.
Tuchel will likely be ecstatic if they can sign De Ligt and another center-back from those lists.
