The pace of negotiations between Chelsea and Manchester City around Raheem Sterling's potential transfer to Stamford Bridge has greatly increased recently.

A deal is more likely to be reached, and an agreement is getting closer.

Sterling is expected to sign a four-year contract with Chelsea, and the transfer cost is anticipated to be in the range of £45 million.

The England international, who has 131 goals in 337 games over seven seasons at the Etihad Stadium, has been the subject of frequent negotiations between Chelsea and City.

The Blues have already formally approached City about signing Sterling, and they hope to complete the transaction before the end of the week.

The 27-year-desire old's to leave City was furthered by his positive conversations with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel about how he might be used at Stamford Bridge.

This summer, he might not be the only City player to join Chelsea; Tuchel is also interested in Nathan Ake and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Although Pep Guardiola's team may be difficult to convince to allow all three to join the Blues, owner Todd Boehly and Tuchel have explored the prospect of signing the trio.

When Tuchel was in charge of Borussia Dortmund, he was interested in signing Ake, and it's especially appealing since the 27-year-old can fill in at left-back, midfield, and the left side of a back three to replace Antonio Rudiger.

When he joined Blues at the age of 15, Ake stayed with them for seven years.

Having struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at the Etihad, it is thought that he might be open to a return.

Raphinha, a Brazilian winger who costs Leeds about £60 million, is another player for whom Chelsea is trying to finalize a deal with Leeds.

Raheem Sterling's prospective transfer to Stamford Bridge has been the subject of intense recent negotiations between Chelsea and Manchester City.
