According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Arsenal have already agreed on personal terms with Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.

Fabrizio Romano reported last month that the Gunners were working on a deal for Youri Tielemans, who was not interested in extending his contract with Leicester.

Despite their efforts to make a deal happen, the Gunners have yet to make an official bid for Tielemans, according to Jacobs. The journalist has also revealed the fee Mikel Arteta's side must pay to secure the Belgian midfielder's services.

Ben Jacobs was quoted by GiveMeSport as saying the following:

Arsenal have put a lot of effort into Tielemans." They've agreed on personal terms, and their discussions with Tielemans have lasted nearly a year. However, for whatever reason, Arsenal have decided not to swoop yet and have instead tabled a bid with Leicester City. And if they do, and agree on a fee of between £25 million and £32 million, they will get Youri Tielemans.

Arsenal has been very active in the summer transfer window, signing three players: Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos, and Matt Turner. According to reports, the club is also close to completing the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City.

According to GiveMeSport, the Youri Tielemans deal was put on hold while the Gunners worked to sign the aforementioned players.

Youri Tielemans has been a key player for Leicester City in recent seasons. Last season, the 25-year-old Belgian international made 50 appearances for the Foxes, scoring seven goals and providing five assists across all competitions.

It is worth noting that Tielemans' current contract with Leicester City expires in one year. This summer could be ideal for offloading the Belgian midfielder and receiving a transfer fee rather than seeing him leave on a free transfer next year.

Arsenal is having yet another successful summer transfer window.

The Gunners have had a productive transfer window for the second summer in a row. Last summer, Mikel Arteta's side spent nearly £140 million on players such as Aaron Ramsdale, Martin Odegaard, and Ben White.

This year, Arsenal will continue to sign young players for the first team, as they did last summer. Vieira is 22 years old, while Marquinhos is only 19 years old. Turner, on the other hand, is 28 and will not be a regular first-team starter.
