Cristiano Ronaldo is said to be among the Manchester United players who will return to the club's Carrington training complex on Monday for pre-season training.

The Red Devils began pre-season training earlier this week, with several players, including Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, David de Gea, Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial, and Donny van de Beek, working under the club's new head coach Erik ten Hag.

Those who competed for their countries in the June internationals, including Ronaldo, were given more time off.

Man United will have 15 players back in training on Monday, according to the Manchester Evening News, as Ten Hag prepares to name his squad for the pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia.

The Red Devils will depart for Bangkok on Friday, four days before their first summer friendly against Premier League rivals Liverpool.

Ronaldo's future at Manchester United has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks, with the 37-year-old thought to be weighing his options ahead of the new season.

However, Bruno Fernandes recently dismissed suggestions that his club and international teammate might leave, and Man United have allegedly told potential suitors that they are not welcome.

Ronaldo and Fernandes, along with Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Diogo Dalot, Alex Telles, Eric Bailly, Scott McTominay, James Garner, Fred, Hannibal Mejbri, Facundo Pellistri, and Anthony Elanga, are expected to return to training on Monday.

Meanwhile, due to Dean Henderson's absence, teenage goalkeeper Dermot Mee is expected to play, and Dylan Levitt, who spent last season on loan with Scottish club Dundee United, is also expected to play after appearing for Wales.

Maguire's struggles in the 2021-22 season sparked speculation about his future, but the centre-back is expected to stay at Old Trafford this summer, even if he loses the captain's armband.Telles and Bailly's futures, on the other hand, are far from certain, with the former potentially rendered surplus to requirements if Tyrell Malacia arrives from Feyenoord.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are reportedly interested in Ajax center-back Lisandro Martinez, which could lead to Bailly, along with Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe, leaving the club.

Garner, who returned to Manchester United after an impressive loan spell at Nottingham Forest, is expected to be given the opportunity to make his mark during pre-season.

As part of their preparations for the 2022-23 season, the 20-time English champions will face Liverpool, Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid, and Rayo Vallecano.
