The Fourth Republican Constitution has been advanced with the backing of all stakeholders, which has been praised by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In a statement released to commemorate its 30th anniversary, which happened on June 29, 2022, it said the occasion represented the longest duration of democratic practise in the nation since independence and urged Ghanaians to maintain it.

It stated in a statement signed by its General Secretary, John Boadu, that Ghana has "acquired an excellent reputation for political stability, which is a precious brand to be maintained, safeguarded, and strengthened."

It expressed gratitude for the party's founding fathers and mothers, including those from the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC) in the 1940s, the Ghana Congress Party (GCP), and the National Liberation Front.

the Ga Shifomokpe, the United Party (UP), the Progress Party (PP), the Northern Peoples Party (NPP), the Togolese Congress Party, and the Popular Front Party (PFP).

According to the statement, the fact that the party's political tradition was the only one in the nation to have endured all of Ghana's pre- and post-independence republics, including the most cancerous dictatorial regimes, and to have stood the test of time, could only serve as proof of its greatness and wealth.

Reforms

The shift from opaque ballot boxes to transparent ballot boxes, the change from "black and white" voter ID cards to coloured ID cards with photos, and the quantum leap in voting technology were all championed by the NPP, according to the statement.

The 2020 general elections in Ghana have been praised as maybe the cleanest, most peaceful, freest, and fairest, it stated, despite the disruptive danger of COVID-19.

Regarding the economy, it said that every policy implemented by the NPP while in power had been created to provide advantages to as many Ghanaians as possible.

The integrated programmes One District One Factory (1D1F), One District One Warehouse (1D1W), One Village One Dam (1V1D), and Planting for Food and Jobs were effectively implemented in the agro-industry (PFJ). Additionally, we successfully implemented Mobile Money Interoperability, allowing digital payments across many platforms and drawing 70% of the bankable population into the financial sector, the statement continued.

That, it said, had transformed banking in Ghana and was poised to lead trade in the Accra-based African Continental Free Trade Area, which is yet another significant accomplishment for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Social initiatives

Despite being a center-right party, the NPP, according to the statement, has carried out more social intervention programmes than any other political party in Ghana's history.

It mentioned how former President John Agyekum Kufuor established the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and offered free maternity care, the Livelihood Empowerment against Poverty (LEAP) programme for impoverished families, and funded the Capitation Grant and the Ghana School Feeding Program.
