The Bono Regional Minister, Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene, has praised the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) members for their outstanding level of professionalism and loyalty.

She noted that the GAF's degree of professionalism has given the country a respectable reputation and resilience abroad, improving Ghana's ties with its neighbours and the rest of the world.

Mad. Owusu-Banahene presented the commendation while celebrating the opening of the Military High Command-built young soldiers' housing complex at the 154 Armoured Regiment at the liberation barracks in Sunyani with Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), and Major-General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, the Chief of the Army Staff.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air-Vice Marshal Frank Hanson, and a few GAF high commanders were among them.

Mad. Owusu-Banahene stated that the GAF's outstanding contributions should be recognised and gratefully appreciated and that the country truly appreciated the GAF's selfless dedication to preserving and enhancing national security through its internal operations and participation in external missions.

The regional minister expressed her appreciation for the goodwill that had prevailed between the Military High Command and the Bono Regional Coordinating Council (BRCC), which had resulted in fruitful areas of collaboration between the two organisations.

Mad. Owusu-Banahene claimed that the 3BN's assistance has made a substantial contribution to the battle against illicit mining and the dishonest practises of Fulani nomads.

Vice-Admiral Amoama stated that "in the end, the military's capacity to effectively carry out its continuing mandate rests on its troops being well-motivated."

According to him, adequate housing infrastructure is a crucial component of logistical assistance that ensures police, both men and women, are motivated to work effectively.

According to the CDS, phases one and two of the military housing project are constructing roughly 1,200 units of housing in all garrisons across the nation in an effort to alleviate the infrastructural and logistical issues the GAF is facing.
