According to rumours, West Ham won't utilize Declan Rice in any deal this summer to acquire Chelsea attacker Armando Broja.
After starting out regularly for the east London team after spending eight years in the Cobham academy, Rice has been a long-term objective for the Blues.
He played a significant role in the Hammers' run to the Europa League the previous season and has been a key contributor to their success in consecutive seasons.
After spending a full season on loan at Southampton, Broja is scheduled to return to Chelsea this summer. Despite having yet to play in preseason, a number of teams are showing interest in the 20-year-old, who made an impression at Saint Mary's Stadium.
Although Chelsea would be interested in signing one of the Hammers' players as compensation, it is believed that such a trade will not be made.
In the offseason, Thomas Tuchel will evaluate Armando Broja.
Ben Jacobs claims that West Ham would want to sign Broja in a separate agreement rather than using Rice in a trade to offset his "big fee."
It's also said that the midfielder won't be permitted to leave the London Stadium this summer because his present team has priced clubs who have expressed interest in him out.
Rice might not be attainable for Chelsea, but Broja is reportedly a "priority target" for West Ham, with interest also being shown in the striker by Newcastle United, Leicester City, Ajax, and Napoli.
With a spot in the first squad next season undoubtedly on the line if he impresses the German manager, Thomas Tuchel wants to form his own opinion of the Albanian during preseason.
Romelu Lukaku leaving the club to sign a loan deal with Inter Milan makes his presence at Chelsea for the upcoming season possible.
Declan Rice is still a target for Chelsea.
The West London club, which is aiming for its first Premier League championship, is expected to be active in the transfer market in the upcoming weeks.
Raheem Sterling, a player for Manchester City, is believed to be close to signing with the team this summer. Tuchel is expected to finalize a deal worth £45 million plus add-ons.
The 27-year-old will so play for his third Premier League team in his career after beginning with Liverpool and moving to City in 2015.
Since Chelsea has yet to add any new players before the new season, Matthijs de Ligt and Raphinha have both been mentioned as targets.
