The Italian striker is set to leave Torino on a free transfer this summer and has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past. Fabrizio Romano tweeted: "Official statement from Torino now confirms Andrea Belotti will not sign a new contract - he’s available on the market as free agent immediately, no full agreement with any club yet. Belotti will make a decision on his future club soon." The Italian international is a regular goal scorer in Serie A and is being linked with a number of high profile clubs across Europe. While the Magpies have to take in mind Financial Fair Play, the lack of a transfer fee could prove an attractive proposition. When asked by @NUFC360 on Twitter, if the Magpies should take a punt on the forward, there was an overwhelming message for the Toon hierarchy. Here's what Newcastle United supporters have had to say on the news: @CallumTroy97 said: "Definitely built for premier league, for free it’s a silly question would snap your **** off for him." @BrunoGnufc said: "As a rotation striker absolutely 100%. Then throw the budget at Diaby." @Antallen1 tweeted: "Not bad stats. He averages a goal every 2.24 games and normally plays most matches - most recent season aside. I'd take him to play second fiddle to Wilson." @Dave_Mooney said: "Yes! I think he's the type of deal the club could secure under the radar. Some good free transfers available out there. I'd be surprised if we're not working on a few already." @andrewsneill tweeted: "Definitely. It brings in a quality player for no capital expenditure. Yes there'll be significant fees and wages but you'd normally get that on top of the transfer fee. If we could get him and Eriksen both on 'frees' I'd be delighted" @DiscoDan18 said: "We never seem to be able to sign world class signings on free transfers. Would be awesome if Eriksen and Belotti changed this though." Arsenal and Man Utd have bargain striker option as once most-wanted star is now free agent
All Or Nothing: Arsenal teased in Amazon Prime Video trailer Arsenal and Manchester United could be locked in a battle to sign Italy striker Andrea Belotti for free this summer. The 28-year-old is now a free agent after leaving Serie A side Torino following the expiration of his contract. Belotti hit the headlines last spring when he was tipped to make a big-money move to the Premier League. The Gunners and the Red Devils were among the clubs who were linked with the ace, while the likes of Tottenham, Chelsea, Everton and West Ham were also rumoured to be interested in him. But he stayed at Torino for one final season, during which he scored eight goals in 23 games amid a series of injury problems. Torino were keen to keep the ace and reportedly made several attempts to tie him down to a new deal. But he instead opted to call time on his career at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino and search for a new club. But the north London giants have now signed Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City. Manager Mikel Arteta will not be content with signing only one frontman during the current transfer window, however, and could see Belotti as the perfect partner in crime for the Brazil international. United, meanwhile, are desperate for new faces after enduring a dismal season last time around. The Red Devils finished sixth in the Premier League as the likes of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho faltered.
