According to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs, Chelsea might get one step closer to inviting Raheem Sterling to Stamford Bridge by reaching an agreement with Manchester City in the coming week.

After allowing Romelu Lukaku to return to Inter Milan on loan, head coach Thomas Tuchel now has the money to splash thanks to a £4.25 billion takeover led by Todd Boehly. Tuchel is eager to expand his options up front.

What is the most recent Sterling-related news?

Chelsea is rumored to be growing more optimistic that they can sign Sterling before the transfer window closes on September 1.

Sterling's £300,000-per-week deal with Manchester City has less than a year left to go, and the club is willing to allow the winger to leave.

In an effort to raise the stakes before the new season begins next month, Chelsea has already contacted the defending Premier League champions.

The west Londoners are reportedly preparing an opening offer, and Tuchel has already spoken with Sterling, according to The Telegraph.

The 77-cap England international is reportedly valued at between £50 million and £60 million by Manchester City, and Pep Guardiola has stated that he will not obstruct Sterling's desire to leave the Etihad Stadium.

What has Sterling been stated about by Ben Jacobs?

Jacobs is aware that Sterling is considering switching from Manchester City to Chelsea, which puts the Blues in a strong position.

The journalist anticipates that an agreement between the teams will be reached soon and that the 27-year-old would join Tuchel's team.

According to Jacobs, Sterling has always maintained that he will make a decision on his future during the summer.

"Things have progressed a little bit, and Sterling is absolutely open to a move to Chelsea, so I believe that by the end of the transfer window Raheem Sterling will end up playing for Chelsea.

Not only that, but it is also conceivable that Chelsea and Manchester City will verbally agree on a price within the next seven to ten days, depending on how much of Boehly's time and resources are diverted towards Raphinha. Chelsea acquiring Sterling seemed likely.

When was Stamford Bridge initially constructed?

What will Sterling bring to the Chelsea offense?

Over the course of his senior club career, Sterling has scored 154 goals and provided another 120 assists, so it is obvious that he would provide a lot of firepower and originality.

Even though his name wasn't among the first on Manchester City's team roster last year, he still racked up 26 contributions to goals.

The former Liverpool player would make Tuchel's team an even more formidable force, as evidenced by the statistics that show Sterling averaged more goals per 90 minutes than Chelsea stars Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech, and Callum Hudson-Odoi last season. He also outperformed the trio in terms of pass completion percentage.
