Barça moves quickly in the transfer window. While the Blaugranas are on the verge of overtaking Chelsea and Arsenal in the Raphinha case, Joan Laporta has also announced the signing of two free agents. The president of Barça told the Spanish press that Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessié would be introduced this week.
The Danish international arrives from Chelsea and will be officially welcomed on Wednesday. The Ivorian midfielder, for his part, will have to wait another day before taking his first steps. Franck Kessié, AC Milan's champion last season, was out of contract.
Laporta goes over the Dembele, Raphinha, and De Jong files.
Joan Laporta also used the opportunity to talk about the Barcelona transfer window, specifically Ousmane Dembélé. The French winger is still without a contract with Barcelona. However, the Catalan president has stated that the player will remain if he accepts the Catalan club's terms.
Raphinha is concerned.
Joan Laporta expressed appreciation for the club's interest: "Rafinha? " Leeds was contacted. What happens is that other clubs want Raphinha and make proposals to him. He wishes to come.
The president was cautious about Robert Lewandowski: He's a fantastic player, but he belongs to Bayern Munich. I'd rather not say anything right now.
Finally, Joan Laporta acknowledged Manchester United's interest in Frenkie De Jong but wishes to retain it: Frenkie is wanted by a number of clubs, not just Manchester United. We do not want to sell him, and he wishes to remain. All experts consider Frenkie to be one of the best midfielders in the world. We're delighted to have him.
'I will do everything in my power to keep Frenkie here, but there is a salary issue that would have to be addressed,' says Laporta.
Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessié are expected to join Barça, according to Laporta. The defender from Denmark will be unveiled soon.

Erik ten Hag has suffered a major setback after Cristiano Ronaldo requested to leave Manchester United this summer.
According to Duncan Castles of The Times, the Portuguese legend wants out of Old Trafford just a year after re-joining the club.
Last season, Ronaldo scored 18 Premier League goals.
But it came at the end of a disastrous season for the Reds, which saw them finish in the Europa League places.
This has had a significant impact on Ronaldo's decision to leave the club, as he wants to play in the Champions League next season.
As the competition's leading scorer, it was always going to be difficult to see Ronaldo line up for United in the Europa League next season.
The striker has asked the club to accept any reasonable offers from other clubs.
His agent, Jorge Mendes, met with executives from Bayern Munich and Chelsea last month to discuss possible moves for the player.
According to the aforementioned Castles report, the 37-year-old still believes he has "three or four years" left at the highest level of the game.
He wants to spend them at a club where he can add to his club and personal accomplishments.
The forward no longer sees a future with Manchester United.
