Matthijs de Ligt, a defender for Juventus, recently sent a supporter a seven-word letter on Chelsea transfer rumours.

A Chelsea supporter approached the Dutch international while he was on vacation in Greece to inquire about the possibilities of joining the Blues.

According to Football.London, the 22-year-old responded in a mysterious manner. I don't know, we'll see, he replied.

According to the aforementioned source, Thomas Tuchel is anxious to change up the defence this summer.

After his contract expired, the Blues lost their top defender Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid on a free transfer. Andreas Christensen also left the team once his contract expired. According to AS, he is dead keen on signing with Barcelona. Both Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso may quit the team amid interest from Barcelona, according to trade analyst Fabrizio Romano.

Therefore, it makes sense why the Blues are interested in adding defensive reinforcements this summer.

According to The Telegraph, one of the biggest names to have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Juventus defender De Ligt.

While a cash-plus-player swap deal is still on the table, Chelsea has made headway in their negotiations with the former Ajax captain. Timo Werner, Jorginho, and Christian Pulisic are a few of the players Tuchel's team might offer the Old Lady as part of the deal. De Ligt, who made his name at Ajax at a young age, was acquired by Juventus in 2019 for a sum close to €75 million.

The Dutchman hasn't quite succeeded in making a lasting impression at Juventus Stadium, though. The highly regarded defender has currently played 117 times for the Old Lady.

He still has plenty of time to turn his career around at the young age of 22, and a move to Chelsea may be able to assist him in doing so.

The conditions are all met for Matthijs de Ligt to succeed at Chelsea.

Although Matthijs de Ligt has long been considered a talent with a bright future, his move to Juventus did not go as planned.

There should be no question, though, that the Dutchman has a unique talent and is a natural leader. With Ajax, he became the club's youngest-ever captain and led them to the Champions League semifinals in 2018–19. He might end up serving as Chelsea's defensive anchor for many years to come.

Juventus saw many ups and downs during De Ligt's three years there, along with a number of management changes.

He might be the foundation of the Blues' team if he signs with them.
