Most of us think that when the son of an NBA great makes it to the league, he must have learned something from his dad. But neither Scotty Pippen Jr. nor his six-time NBA champion dad, Scottie Pippen, have had that problem.

What went wrong?

Most fathers and sons still play together or against each other in the league. But the Pippens haven't done that in about two years.

Kyle Goon, a reporter for the Los Angeles Lakers, said that one of the most interesting things about the new Purple and Gold player was that his father, Scottie, has "stopped" playing one-on-one games with him. What's up? because he was just too much for him to handle in court.

Scotty also said that he often beat his dad, but that his dad wouldn't give up and would even make up injuries to avoid losing.

Dad, who is competitive and proud

If everything that has been said is true, most of us shouldn't be surprised. Scottie was a very competitive player when he was in the league. Pip still has a winning attitude and a bit of pride, so he wouldn't let anyone beat him, not even his own son.

Scottie is still proud of Scotty Jr., who just signed a two-way contract with the Lakers.

As Scottie wrote on Twitter, "One of the best things I've done as a father was to be with [Scotty] when his dream came true." Deuce, you worked hard, didn't cheat, and pushed yourself to make this happen.

He also said, "I'm so proud of you, and I can't wait to see what comes next." "In high school and college, I wore purple, and I'm ready to wear it again."

What might Scotty be able to bring to the table?

It's a long shot to say that Scotty is better than his dad because he beats him in one-on-one games. But one thing is for sure: Pippen could play basketball when he was young.

In his last year at Vanderbilt, Scotty averaged 20.4 points, 4.5 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game. It might be too soon to tell, but the young player could help the Lakers on both ends of the court. So let's see what his first NBA season has in store for him.
