Todd Cantwell, a highly-regarded forward for Norwich City, is reportedly being chased by Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the manager of the Red Devils, has placed a strong emphasis on bringing in young British players, and players like Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James were signed before the season began.

Both of them have had a significant impact on the club's Premier League results, and it appears that the board is willing to continue in the same direction in the near future.

The Red Devils are willing to compete with Tottenham Hotspur for the services of Cantwell, who has produced six goals and two assists in his first season in the top division, according to The Mail.

Cantwell's sale this month is unlikely to be approved by Norwich, who are now last in the Premier League standings, but the source suggests that the attacker may be made available for about £30 million at the end of the current campaign.

Cantwell, 21, has been instrumental for the Canaries this season from a wide offensive position, and the team has avoided losses in five of the seven games he has scored in.

Given that Cantwell has typically played on the left or right wing, where United can rely on a number of players, it is uncertain where he might play if United makes a bid for him.

Cantwell may not be more than a backup option for Solskjaer given the current alternatives for the wide attacking roles, which include Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Daniel James, and Mason Greenwood.

Due to the inconsistency of players like Andreas Pereira, Juan Mata, and Jesse Lingard at the number 10 position, the club would be better off looking at prospects who might fit into that position.
