At least six people have been arrested in connection with a dispute over land and sovereignty in Adum Afrancho near Atwima Kwanwoma in the Ashanti region.
The incident happened on Sunday morning, July 3, 2022, at about 7:00 am when two groups met at a family venue where a struggle ensued.
During the altercation, the deceased, identified as Kwame Yeboah (23), was allegedly stabbed to death by Kwadjo Brefo, one of the arrested suspects.
Two people, including the suspect Kwadwo Brefo, were injured and were treated at the hospital under police guard.
The operation, led by the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, helped restore peace and led to the arrest of the six men.
“Police have arrested six people in the Ashanti region following a land dispute over the death of one person in Adum Afrancho near Atwima Kwanwoma.
"Police have tightened security in the area and we are fully in control of the situation," said parts of a police statement released on Sunday night.
