The NPP National Advocacy Association of Ghana, a gathering related with the decision New Patriotic Party (NPP), says the Government can't be faulted for its choice to draw in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a bailout.
The Association said the move had become important following the appearing to be worldwide financial emergency that had switched the positive additions kept by the Akufo-Addo Government as of late.
In a proclamation endorsed by the Association's National Secretary, Dr Michael Kojo Kyeremateng, and imparted to the Ghana News Agency, it denounced the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of "disappointing" the section of the E-Levy, which was planned to support Government's income in a bid to restore the economy.
It said the NDC missing the mark on moral right to censure the Government's commitment with the IMF, saying that the Government's failure to understand the income focuses from the E-Levy was because of the resistance's mission against it.
"In the journey to get the economy in a good place again, the Government presented the E-Levy, which was and is the main solution for assist Ghanaian economy with returning.
The Association encouraged the populace to help the Government's choice to look for IMF support as it was in light of a legitimate concern for the country.
"We prompt and urge Ghanaians to thoroughly consider this and see crafted by the resistance against the E-Levy to its prosperity, making the NDC to push for their plan.
"Governmental issues that influence great strategies ought not be acknowledged by Ghanaians," it said.
The Ministry of Information on Friday, July 1, 2022, reported that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, had approved the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, to begin formal commitment with the IMF, welcoming the Fund to help a financial program set up by the public authority of Ghana.
An assertion gave by the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, said: "this follows a phone discussion between the President and the IMF Managing Director, Miss Kristalina Georgieva, passing Ghana's choice on to draw in with the Fund.
"At a gathering on June 30th, 2022, bureau showed its help for the choice," the assertion said.
"The commitment with the IMF will look to give equilibrium of installment support as a feature of a more extensive work to enliven Ghana's work back despite difficulties prompted by the Covid-19 pandemic and, as of late, the Russia-Ukraine emergencies," it added.
