Manchester United releases a statement as Cristiano Ronaldo skips training due to transfer rumors.

Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from Manchester United just a year after returning to the club after a spell at Juventus.

Manchester United have demonstrated Cristiano Ronaldo's loss from training is due to family obligations, raising concerns about the forward's future.

Ronaldo has only been at Old Trafford for one season after spending the previous 12 with Real Madrid and Juventus. He was the club's top scorer last season, but speculation about his long-term future with the club has grown despite signing a two-year contract when he returned to England from Turin.

United have reportedly made contact with other players as the possibility of a season without Ronaldo grows. Argentina forward Paulo Dybala is one of them, having left Juventus after a long stint there.

According to a club statement relayed by the Manchester Evening News, Ronaldo is not expected to return today "due to family reasons, and the club has accepted this explanation."

The situation has added to the pressure on new manager Erik ten Hag, who has only recently welcomed his squad to training for the 2022-23 season. United finished sixth in the Premier League last season, and the former Ajax manager will be hoping to lead his team back up the table.

he scored 18 goals in 1 season and a total of 24 in all competitions. This was, however, his lowest total since leaving the club for the first time in 2009.
